Regarded as one of the most beautiful towns in Scotland, Stirling has historically been the epicentre of Highland politics and remains a cultural gem. Much of the breath-taking architecture in the town remains from the medieval period, with Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, Cambuskenneth Abbey and the Church of the Holy Rood being the major draw-cards for visitors. Stirling is situated to the north-east of Glasgow off of the M80 and north-west of Edinburgh from the M9. Stirling is at a junction that receives rail services from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, before funnelling them north into the Highlands. Stirlings closest airport is the Edinburgh International Airport.
