Milton Keynes

Originally developed as a new town in the 1960s, Milton Keynes has rapidly grown into an important regional centre in its own right. The town has been designed to provide residents and visitors alike with plenty of entertaining outdoor areas, with Willen Lake, the Eco Park, the National Bowl and the M.K. Dons Football Club all contributing. The Concrete Cows (by artist Liz Leyh) and Bletchley Park are also popular with tourists. Milton Keynes is well connected to the major cities that surround it, with the M1 leading north to Leicester and Northampton and south to Luton and London. Being close-by to Luton, Milton Keynes enjoys the many flights Luton International Airport has on offer. Rail connections to London, Birmingham and Manchester are also frequent. Accommodation in Milton Keynes varies from budget-priced hostels for back-packers to tranquil luxury hotels such as the Holiday Inn that sits on the banks of Willen Lake.
